Lifestyle: An Apple A Day. Hello 2015.


Let’s talk New Years Resolutions! 😀
This year, I am vowing to myself three things. I even wrote it all down on a piece of paper and hung it on my bedroom wall so I can be reminded every day of the person I want to become and the things I want to achieve. I think that often in life we can forget these things due to the countless distractions we are faced with.

First off, I want to stay positive. No more negative talk. No need to speak of how much I hate something or someone or how certain things bother me. Life’s too short. Drama gets too much attention. My mom always used to tell me, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then you shouldn’t say anything at all.” It’s a Golden Rule; a way of life. It’s a shame I’ve allowed myself to veer so far from these wonderful words of wisdom. Even though it’s only been a week, I can already feel my life changing dramatically.

Secondly, I need to cut the procrastination. I’m finally going back to school to finish my degree and I need to learn from my past attempt to go to college. I’d fallen so behind in classes because I would put everything in my life before school and wait until the last minute to start homework; often so last minute, I forgot there was even an assignment at all! Time to get my priorities straight. I’m turning a quarter of a century old this year and I need to cross a college degree off my bucket list.

And lastly, I will eat an apple every day. That’s 365 apples!!! This may sound silly, but as the old saying goes, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Who even knows if that’s true. In all honestly, I see this as an attempt to become a healthier human in the sense that I’ll be substituting an apple for a crappy snack. Normally when I feel hungry at an unusual hour, I feast on something like chips or candy. Time to have an apple instead.

I’m starting to think I’m the only person who’s excited about resolutions. Am I? What promises are you making to yourself this year?
