Recipe: Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

It’s night time and it’s cold 😦

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate
makes 4 servings, takes 10 minutes

1/2 cup of water
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup of white sugar
1 teaspoon of caramel sauce
3 1/2 cups of milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup of half & half cream

Boil the water with the salt in a saucepan. Stir in the cocoa, caramel, and sugar. Allow to boil for about two minutes. Turn down to low heat and stir in the milk, and do not allow to boil! (Unless you like things that taste burnt) Turn off the stove and add the vanilla and cream.

Pour evenly into four cups and top with whipped cream, caramel sauce, and sea salt.
